JUST A CARD - INDIE FRIDAY is back!

INDIE FRIDAY is a highlight of the JUST A CARD calendar. Right from when we first had the idea, seven years now. Many independents feel it’s hard to compete with big business on Black Friday, but why should we miss the party!? Sales are vital to us all at this time of year. There’s a buzz around Black Friday - so let’s jump in and do it our way.

INDIE FRIDAY is your day to shine. To celebrate and share your work, businesses, shops and stories, and those you love, both on social media and in the wider world. Last year over 60,000 people got involved - that’s quite the crowd!

Everyone is warmly welcome to be part of JUST A CARD - INDIE FRIDAY, wherever you are in the world - whether you’re an independent yourself or simply value and love them. During these challenging times the more we use our collective voice to raise awareness of how incredible independents are, the more everyone will benefit.

Here’s how you can get involved:

ON JUST A CARD - INDIE FRIDAY (29 Nov)

Today’s the day to shop independent and shop small. Today’s the day to share and promote your work and businesses like crazy! Share your sales, special offers, your artwork, your fabulous shops & businesses. Let’s shout from the rooftops about the importance of valuing and buying from artists, makers, independent shops and small businesses, especially during the crucial festive period.

Post lots on Instagram - posts, reels and stories of you wearing your JUST A CARD pins with pride! Of your shops, studios, workspaces, events. Whatever suits you - introduce yourself, share what you do. Post an image you make (or have made previously) inspired by our distinctive bird and leaf JUST A CARD logo & message. Say why sales are important to you. Share those you love too - say why you’re passionate about encouraging people to SHOP INDEPENDENT. Add our logo to your posts. Invite others to follow @justacard and be part of our incredible community. If you’re stuck, feel free to use one of our images - There are no rules - just join in.
Wear and display your ‘support independents’ Christmas and Classic pins in your shops, at events and on social media.
Display and use the amazing resources from our RESOURCES BUNDLE. We’ve created it just for you, to encourage understanding of our message. These include posters, online sale inserts, a web button and much more, all found in our Shop (click link, or see below for info).
Tell people - a lovely face to face chat - a smile, a pat on the back. Supporting independents and JUST A CARD is about so much more than shopping.
