Forget Black Friday! Join Just A Card Indie Week!
By Kate Marsden
There’s just over a week to go until we raise the roof with our Just A Card Indie Week! Last year we spent Black Friday pushing the message that it’s better to shop with independents on the run up to Christmas (I mean you really don’t need that new TV do you?!), but this year we’ll be doing this for a whole 5 days!
Please join us to celebrate for a week of fun to encourage people to SHOP INDEPENDENT THIS CHRISTMAS.
Make sure you get the dates 19-23 November in your diary now so we can all work together to celebrate small businesses in the run up to Christmas - and remind everyone to shop independent this year.
Everyone who is passionate about creativity and independents will be invited to share their stories on social media during our 5 day Instagram Challenge – more details below, but in the meantime make sure you’re following us on Instagram and Twitter!
We’d also like you to celebrate the contribution independent shops and creatives make by posting images of your Just A Card shop and car window stickers plus your pins – and share any you see out and about in the wild too. If you’re yet to order your pins and stickers head over here to get them now so you’re ready to join in during Just A Card Indie Week itself.
Make sure you join the Just A Card Social Media Challenge!
In a world where people go mad and panic buy like crazy in the superstores on Black Friday, we want to redress the balance for small and independent businesses. We want to remind everyone that shopping small is a must this Christmas!
After the success of our Instagram challenge for Just A Card Week we’re back with another one! As I know that so many of you like to plan your posts in advance, here are the prompts…
Don’t forget to tag us @justacard and use the hashtag #justacard in all of your posts so they can be seen by everyone. And remember that Instagram challenges are a great way to meet new people and get new followers too…
But it’s not just about Instagram. We want our message to be spread far and wide beyond the bubble of independent shops and creative businesses – the buying public need to see it too! So please hop over to Twitter now and follow us, then retweet as many of our campaign posts as you can – that’s how we spread the word and it doesn’t cost a penny. We're aiming for the same on Facebook too so make sure you’re following Sarah Hamilton’s Facebook page – this is a particularly good way to spread the word amongst friends and family (and to drop the hint that you’d like a gift from an independent shop or designer/maker this Christmas too!).
Our new Partnership with Funding Circle means we’ll have an amazing competition for you too!
So do stay tuned – you won’t want to miss this one! Follow us and Funding Circle on Instagram to find out more nearer the time.
We’d love this Christmas to be the best ever for small businesses everywhere.
